Perhaps the biggest draw at District (216 Townsend St., 415-896-2120), South Beach’s latest wine-bar-cum-restaurant, is the 30-year-old Rome-born wunderkind Caterina Mirabelli. The irrepressible wine and cheese director may have lived in SF less than a year, but she’s already adamant about her favorite spots—which is what we’d expect from any self-respecting, discriminating Italian.

Pizzeria Delfina for a pizza margherita and a glass of Nero d’Avola. It makes me feel like I am back in Rome!” (3611 18th St. 415-437-6800)

“For a real Italian espresso and a Sicilian cannoli, there’s no better place than Cafe Greco in North Beach.” (423 Columbus St., 415-397-6261)

“I do my shopping at Bi-Rite, where I fill my cart with hand-crafted Fra’Mani salumi and cheeses—my favorites are the ones from Andante dairy.” (3639 18th St., 415-241-9760)

“I had a memorable meal at Acquerello during truffle season. Their earthy truffle-perfumed risotto was outstanding, complemented by wines from my favorite Italian producers: S. Leonardo, Gaja and Michele Chiarlo.” (1722 Sacramento St., 415-567-5432)

“For Sunday brunch, I like to eat at Foreign Cinema. I often order a dozen oysters and their frittata, and wash it down with a bottle of Billecart rosé.” (2534 Mission St., 415-648-7600)
