Barring a sudden windfall, these picks aren't likely to be adorning my cramped living quarters anytime soon. But a girl can dream, can't she?

I’m eyeing the midcentury gilded-bronze cockatoo bookends ($225) at Josephine & Debudda to give my dime-store novels a little upmarket flair (3420 22nd St., 415-641-4300).

A bathroom bedecked with green Argyle tiles from Heath Ceramics’ hand-glazed Tapestry collection is like bathing in the middle of a Japanese bamboo forest (400 Gate 5 Road, Sausalito, 415-332-3732).

When words fail you, seek solace in the lambswool Blah Blah cushion ($90) by British designer Donna Wilson. Available at Eden & Eden (560 Jackson St., 415-983-0490).

If you’re going to splurge on Pratesi sheets, scenting them with lavender is a logical next step. Try the Jo Malone Lino nel Vento Scent Surround spray ($55). Available at Saks Fifth Avenue, (384 Post St., 415-986-4300).

The gigantic solar-powered garden center at the new Flora Grubb Gardens satisfies my botanical cravings (1634 Jerrold Ave., 415-626-7256).

I love the delicate, lacy rim of the Hering Berlin porcelain perforated Dome base bowl ($276; pictured above). Available at Rose and Radish (460 Gough St., 415-864-4988).

I could use a black lacquer wall-mounted candelabra from Katherine Johnstone’s new line of refurbished vintage furniture for use in my…ummm…dungeon. Available at Mixed Use (463 Union St., 415-956-1909).

PLUS: Swing Set

Anthropologie’s Effervescent chandelier ($1,998) is made of aquamarine glass balls, and comes with a bubbly personality (880 Market St., 415-434-2210).

Each glass cylinder of Peter Isgro’s David chandelier ($3,500-$5,500) is cut on a diamond-polishing system for a sparkle worthy of a DeBeers commercial. Isgro and Co., 3248 Sacramento St., 415-931-5858.

Local artist Jim Misner’s Light Opera chandelier ($2400-$3100) uses frosted-glass rosette shades for a flattering illumination. Light Me Up…Turn Me On, 2263 Union St., 415-409-6800.

Artemide’s curvy Pantalica suspension chandelier ($4,080) gives Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, a run for her money. Artemide, 855 Montgomery St., 415-393-9955.

This Chandelier ($4,900) by Tobias Wong for Citizen:Citizen is enrobed in a rubber coating that is meant to be peeled off, piece by piece, slowly revealing the twinkling lead-free crystal splendor beneath. Available at Limn (290 Townsend St., 415-543-5466).
