Some 50 pieces by contemporary Chinese artists make up SFMOMA's "Half-life of a Dream: Contemporary Chinese Art from the Logan Collection." Peeling back the Utopian visage of life in China after the cultural revolution, the survey features politically loaded works from artists who depict the struggle inherent in China's modernization process—itself an Olympian feat.
