SCENE: The former Firecracker space on Valencia is now home to the city’s second South Indian restaurant, located just a few doors down from the city’s first, Dosa. Tables are packed tightly into the small space, but a flotilla of servers navigates the space with aplomb.
EATS: The bulk of the menu here is devoted to the dosa—the thin, savory crepes are stuffed with myriad fillings, including our favorite, potato-and-pea with spicy chutney. Also on offer: uthappam (lentil-and-rice pancakes with assorted toppings), vegetable curry with coconut and tamarind rice. No matter what else you order, try a side of the high-rising fried batura bread.
