SCENE: This warm Market Street spot caters to a fun Castro crowd looking for some hearty, old-fashioned comfort food. Bartenders handily supply the crowd with good conversation and great drinks.

EATS: It’s famous for its Sunday brunch (think Bloody Marys made with gazpacho-infused vodka, homemade cinnamon rolls and coconut pancakes), but dinner is just as good. Chef-owner Melinda Randolph’s signature roast chicken stacked with huge onion rings on a bed of smooth mashed potatoes is a must. Half-price cocktails start at 5 p.m.
