SCENE: This split-level space has sophisticated sex appeal (exposed brick, gauzy curtains, lots of candlelight), making it an obvious place for a slinky-dress night out. The second floor is the perfect space for a private tête-à-tête.

EATS: Chef Ola Fendert serves up California comfort food with French flair. There’s a great Caesar salad with white anchovies, as well as chicken-and-foie-gras ravioli with a pungent truffle sauce. A caramelized-pear-and-cheese dessert is served with a tangy black-pepper gastrique.
