SCENE: This cheery little Mission outpost is devoted to fresh Mex. The bright, colorful walls and Marina-meets-the-Mission clientele might challenge its standing as a truly authentic taqueria, but one taste of the addictive blended salsa should erase any misgivings about selling out.

EATS: You’d be hard-pressed to find better chile verde—tender chunks of pork slow-cooked in a vibrant sauce of tomatillos and serrano peppers—than at this haven for carnivores and vegetarians alike. On the flip side, the grilled-tofu tacos marinated in an achiote-pepper sauce are top-notch. While you’re waiting, munch on the stellar homemade tortilla chips, brought warm to your table.
