SF's own Another Planet Entertainment has joined forces with the cofounders of Tennessee's legendary Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival (and the SF Recreation & Park Department) to mount the inaugural Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival August 22 to 24 in Golden Gate Park. With six main performance stages, the three-day live-music extravaganza will be the first annual ticketed, large-scale, multistage event to take place in the park, and is set to showcase a genre-spanning roster of talent (swinging from stoner-friendly headliner Tom Petty to art-rock titans Radiohead to world-music innovator Manu Chao and local favorite Rupa and the April Fishes) alongside a showcase of visual artists. Watch your back, Coachella.
