Union Square’s reputation as the city’s shopping, dining and entertainment center has only grown, and, Mayor Gavin Newsom has unleashed Wi-Fi on the Square, the first step in his plan to provide the entire city with free Internet access.
All that shopping can work up quite an appetite. Colibrí Mexican Bistro offers guacamole made tableside and fresh mini corn tortillas to scoop it up with. La vie parisienne has never been more accessible now that Café de la Presse has reopened its doors and Aqua’s Laurent Manrique is at the helm. Grab a croissant and a demitasse of espresso and light up a Gauloise—you’ll feel like you’re in Saint-Germain, sans jet lag. Your Visa’s getting a workout, but you’re the one who needs to unwind: Go for an organic-mint mojito at everyone’s favorite dive bar, the Tunnel Top.
